OVERVIEW
The independent assessment for the aspiring Approved Electrician

SETA is pleased to offer the Advanced Assessment of Competence (AAC) for those seeking to work as an Approved Electrician under the Joint Industry Board (JIB) grading.

The one day, six section assessment assesses candidates in all the areas of competence required by Approved Electricians. It was developed by NET and the JIB to enable those with skills, knowledge and experience to work as an Approved Electrician to demonstrate they are competent to do so.

Those who have already achieved Approved Electrician grading within the ECS are not required to undertake the assessment, nor are those who already hold the City & Guilds 2391,2394 & 2395 or the EAL Level 3 Certificate of Electrical Installations (inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations).

Anyone looking to be graded or regraded as an Approved Electrician must fulfil all the JIB requirements for the grading in addition to passing the AAC, and prospective candidates must complete the mandatory AAC Candidate Self Assessment Checklist beforehand to demonstrate they are ready to do so.
