OVERVIEW

The General engineering programme is aimed at candidates who have completed the BTEC Level 3, looking to progress their career into supervision and management. The course is delivered over 2 years, on a part time basis, at our Southampton facility. We have been delivering the Pearson HNC since September 2019.  Our first cohort of students completed with 100% success rate.

The academic year is divided into 2 Semesters, with 2 units per semester. A total of 8 units cover a range of subjects including CAD, Design, Maths and Engineering Management.

Time at SETA will be spent attending focused learning sessions, Tutorials and guided study sessions. Additional study in the students own time will be required in order to complete the programme.

COURSE DURATION

Two years on a part time basis, one day a week (0800 - 1715)
The course is delivered at our Southampton facility in Millbrook.  

 

 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Engineering (merit or distinction grades).
A-S/A-Level in maths and science or physics (grade A*-C).
Mature students who have relevant industrial experience that relates to the programme structure.

 

 INTERVIEWS

Candidates are required to sit an interview ahead of the course starting.

Higher Nationals in Engineering (core text book) ISBN 978-1-78726-066-5.  Publisher Pearson.

 

 PROGRESSION

On successful completion of the HNC candidates may progress to a Level 5 HND in General Engineering.  (The HNC will count as 120 credits towards a HND).
