Potential date for SETA to re-open to apprentices

As you are aware, SETA along with all educational institutions were forced by Government to pause ‘face to face’ training early in January and switch to remote learning for all apprentices.

Our apprenticeship schemes include mandatory and optional technical qualifications (e.g. BTEC/HNC) which our teaching teams have skilfully engineered for on-line delivery and they have also set project based work for apprentices who qualify. SETA did not qualify for the additional funding uplift/coronavirus relief packages made available to FE Colleges during the ‘first wave’ and so have independently invested in new technology and the necessary staff training to make this work. In addition, SETA has opted to restructure our apprenticeship services teams to help ensure we can continue to provide you and your apprentices with the best level of service.

On the 28th January, HM Government announced that Schools (and FE Colleges) could re-open as early as Monday, 8th March, subject to further guidance and only if specific key targets set out by Government have been achieved.

Key targets include a fall in coronavirus related fatalities and reduction in new hospital admissions, immunisation through our vaccination scheme and a substantial drop in new coronavirus cases. Whilst SETA continues to follow all government guidance, and there are signs of real progress being made against these areas.

Please note that re-opening SETA to apprentices for ‘face to face’ training will not be confirmed until Monday 22nd February when Government plan to discuss plans for ‘unlocking’ the Country. We are therefore unable to communicate further on re-opening until this date.

Since May 2020, SETA has remained open for essential training, examination and assessments. We continue to follow all Government guidance and have introduced coronavirus risk mitigation strategies Should you be interested in any of our training schemes, please find us www.seta-training.co.uk or e-mail info@seta-training.co.uk
