Donation of equipment from Puma Engineering Construction Ltd
Southampton Engineering Training Association (SETA), based in Millbrook, Hampshire has generously been donated two lathes, a copy mill and an ultrasonic cleaner from Puma Engineering & Construction Limited for use in their workshops.
Puma, the locally owned and operated engineering company, based in Totton, Hampshire was established in 2000. With an ethos of continuous improvement and a strong bias on training their own workforce, Puma Engineering sees the benefits of apprenticeships.
“We have had 10 apprentices with SETA during the last two decades. We believe in training our workforce and have seen the gains that apprentices can bring to our own business “states Peter Randall, Operations Director at Puma.
“So being able to donate this equipment to SETA enables us to indirectly help future apprentices within the Engineering sector”.
Mike Driscoll, Operations Director of SETA said “We are extremely grateful for the donation of equipment from Puma Engineering. As a registered charity, we have spent 50 years committed to delivering high quality engineering training to young people. As a Group Training Association we are an employer-led organisation so have very close working relationships with employers such as PUMA Engineering. The donation will be used in our workshops allowing more apprentices the opportunity to learn the skills involved in machining, milling and turning, which enhances their full training experience.
